A French Wedding

Quentin & Diane, were THE DREAM COUPLE to work with. All the way from the East Coast, they somehow found me and upon chatting right away I knew I just had to be a part of their BIG day!

I was excited for this blending of cultures and helping them bring all their ideas to life. Everything was planned miles away. We scheduled zoom calls, design meetings and we even got Quentin's sister, Mary-Victoire

planning with us all the way from France.

Diane & Quentin trusted me with my vendor recommendations and design ideas. They took every piece of advice I gave them and ran with it! They kept everything simple. The bride made the table numbers and signage and I brought in all the candles and vases to help them. Since they were flying in, I didn't want them to worry about having to lug all the extra decor around. Together we pulled off an incredible wedding that I will forever remember as I hope they do too!

The venue was picturesque. Nestled in the mountains of Malibu, overlooking a lake that made you feel as if you were in a hallmark movie. I could not get over the scenery. The weather was perfect, the sun was shinning and we were all smiles. Most importantly, Diane & Quentin were absolutely thrilled that all the planning was done and they were finally enjoying their big day!

The ceremony was both in English and french with Quentin's sister officiating and Diane's brother singing a cappella as Diane walked down the aisle. His vows were heartwarming and had many in tears.

Then came the reception. The candles were lit, the decorations from the ceremony were moved to their sweetheart table to be repurposed and save on costs of having to purchase sweetheart table florals.

We also used the bouquets to help add to their table.

They did their grand entrance, their first dance and went big with a FLASHDANCE MOB! Including all their bridal party and some friends. It was the highlight of the night.

Their goals?

Keeping it simple, romantic and entertaining.

Cut Back On?

They cut back on florals, signage and decorations. Simple loose greenery throughout the tables with candles, their plate setting and table numbers.

THE SPLURGE

Their splurge was their wedding cake and french desserts. They went with a croquembouche or as Quentin taught me to say, a "pièce montée", - (I definitely had to google that). It was also Quentin's birthday, so Diane surprised him with a birthday cake too. Everything else was kept so simple.

The Trend

The bridesmaids all had a different dresses and were told to choose any style of gold and champagne. We're definitely seeing a rise in this trend with letting everyone choose their own fit and staying within a shade.

The Personal Touches

We decorated the venue's mantel with personal touches like pictures of their family for guests to enjoy. AND Marie-Victoire and her family created a video for the couple to enjoy on their wedding day of all their friends and family that could not fly in from France. They left the most sweetest and hilarious messages. I cried and I laughed and I don't even know their family! But you could feel the love everywhere.

Quentin & Diane, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for letting me be a part of such an incredible day. I can't wait for your wedding in France! I hope to help you plan that one too!!
